After working 21 years in the medical field in a busy regional hospital in York Region, I decided to make a career change to become a licensed Davis® Facilitator.
A newly licensed Davis Facilitator had approached me with an opportunity to shadow her clients on a weekly basis, as a support person while working with the clients individually for 1 hour each week. I felt a strong connection with the Davis concepts and core values. I saw on a weekly basis the positive changes that were taking place as a result of the Davis Correction Program and the difference it was making with the clients and their confidence, while celebrating their unique learning styles.
Its soon become clear that I had found the career change I had been contemplating. The Davis Correction Program was a good match for my strengths and abilities that I had developed while working in the health care industry. While continuing to work at the SouthLake Region Health Centre I began to pursue the path of becoming a licensed Davis Facilitator.
I am proud to be a part of the Davis Association and look forward to working with these great kids and their unique learning styles.
York Region, hero of the week, for giving back to my community.
